MEET JOHN-SENSEI

Hello, I'm John, and I bring the world of English language education to Ogaki, Japan, through Pioneer English Centre. Born and raised in the scenic landscapes of New Zealand, my journey led me to Japan, where I've dedicated over a decade to teaching English. My experience spans diverse settings, from one-on-one sessions to classrooms and small groups, cultivating a nuanced approach to language instruction.

Living in Ogaki with my Japanese wife, our two sons, and our beloved Shiba-inu mascot, Q-chan, I've not only embraced the beauty of Japanese culture but integrated it into my teaching philosophy. Language acquisition, to me, is more than just vocabulary and grammar—it's a gateway to understanding and appreciating the richness of a culture.
